We enjoyed reading your updates and look forward to a quick visit when the Disney Magic is in Key West on May 2, 2013.  It has been a few years since Donna and I did a overnight trip on a sailboat but we do enjoy the cruise ships.

Hi there. I got your site address from my cousin Geoff Bray in New Jersey. He thourght  i may find reading your logs would be good as i also like sailing. I race on the river Mersey on the west coast of Great Britain and crew on a 10m yacht. We race all year round so see some bad days with regard to weather. Reading some of your entries sounded so interesting, i can only say i am jealous. The closest i have got to your adventures was last year. Via Crew Seekers i found myself on a boat delivery from the heal of Italy to Catania in Sicily. The Marina there was in the shadow of Mount Etna and at night we sat sipping wine looking at the side of the volcano glowing red. On the over night leg i had to do a two hour watch for the first time, on my own.
We were doing 7knots on auto pilot and i sat back and studied the stars. I noted one star low on the horizon to port and used that as reference as well as the compass and digital indicator. When the owner came up top to relieve me he said how long has that boat been there. This was the star i was looking at. It was on the same track and speed as us and ahead so i couldn't see it's starboard light. A fast learning curve springs to mind. . . .

Well happy new year and if you venture over here or to the med let me know and i will buy you both a beer.

Yours sincerely . Dermot

Terri,
Sharlee forwarded this link to me and I've just spent the last hour and a half getting to know Ron and Carol and to see you and your latest adventures on Lastdance.

I am so happy that you are happy and starting a new chapter in both of your lives.  Looks like lots of fun, friends and rum, by gum!

Ron, hope to meet you one of these days.  In the meantime, "Sail On" and enjoy every day!

Ahoy Cap'n,

It doesn't escape my attention that Australia has not yet been graced a visit. There you are with a fine ship, and here I am in port (Fremantle) on the opposite side of the world... so when should we expect a visit? I'd love to spend some more breakfasts listening to your stories, and there's my three girls here who'd love that too.

I've nearly finished your book - beautiful matey!

Ron - I am glad your neck is better and that you are ready for your trip down the coast on the Lastdance.  I look forward to reading your book and will check your site to see when it is released.

Donna and i enjoy our rides on the cruise ships and try to do several each year.  We have the Western Caribbean in November with the family and are looking at a cruise out of Miami on the Liberty of the Seas (160,000 DWT) out of Miami in late January or early February.   Our last overnight sailboat ride was on a vessel out of St Croix, USVI over to St Thomas for one night and then return but that was ages ago.

Your website is really gorgeous, full of memories and I hope your future dailing days will be full of fair winds and clear skies and big glasses of rum and whaterrever you fancy personally I liked that orange stuff you mixed up one Columbus Day night just before your airline pilot friend stripped off and the spotlights arrived...remember?!!!

Ron... The love you and Carol had for each other makes me so jealous and my heart is heavy knowing your grief is so deep. At 21 I lost my husband of only 18 mos. in a tragic auto accident. The amount of memories I have are slim to none in comparison of your years with Carol - but we had a son together and through him and his sons, I can remember that special time in my life when I had someone who adored me and likewise. You both were lucky in many ways. Keep up the beautiful work of your website for all of us to share and may your journey bring you inner peace. Carol is truly the wind beneath your wings and in LastDance's sail. We should all be so lucky. Valerie
